The Deep Dive on 'Captain Starshine' - Anyone Remember This?

Alright guys, I've been on the hunt for this show for months now, 'Captain Starshine'. It aired briefly in the late '80s and I can barely find a trace of it. I've managed to dig up some info. 'Captain Starshine' was supposed to be this mix of sci-fi and comedy – picture 'Red Dwarf' meets 'Flash Gordon'. Only a few episodes were produced before it got axed. From what I hear, the pilot never even aired. If anyone has leads on the tapes or possibly remembers anything about it, would be awesome to get a discussion going. I mean, it has to exist somewhere, right? I've got a bet going that I can find it before the year is out, so don't let me down, peeps! #captainstarshinelostmedia

Hi, I work in media preservation and I can tell you shows like 'Captain Starshine' can be near impossible to find. Do you have any info on the production company or network? Lost pilots often pop up where you least expect, like old film festivals or private collections. Local archives or museums might have something if you have the patience to dig.

A quest for memories lost in the cosmic sea of forgotten shows. 'Captain Starshine', I can almost hear its unheard theme song calling from the late-night programming blocks of the past. I salute your noble journey into the television void.

Wasn't 'Captain Starshine' meant to have some sort of cutting-edge animation for the time? Would be super cool to see what they were working with back then. Maybe check out some animation forums or subs, sometimes those animators hold onto old work.

No way, I thought I was the only one who remembered 'Captain Starshine'! I remember seeing some old toys at a garage sale as a kid, didn't know they were so rare. Wish I had grabbed them now!

Alright, here's the lowdown. 'Captain Starshine' was produced by a small studio that folded not long after it got canned. Rights issues might be a thing which could explain the scarcity. I have a buddy who's into broadcasting history and loves this kind of challenge. I'll hit him up and see if he has any info. Will report back if anything turns up!

Collector here. 'Captain Starshine' has been on my white whale list forever. My best find was a mention in a TV guide from '89. If you get a lead on a physical copy, you'd be a legend. Keep us posted!

omg 'Captain Starshine' is such a deep cut, remember stumbling across a grainy promo pic years ago, stuff of legends. Have you tried reaching out to anyone who worked on production? Old TV studios have all sorts of stuff just rotting away in their archives.
