First heard 'Whispering Winds' in a thrift shop years ago — a haunting indie album by an obscure band from the late 80s. The shop's copy was scratched beyond repair, and no luck finding it since. Band's name might have been 'Velvet Echoes' or something close. Ring any bells for anyone here? It's the one album that's escaped my collection!

I remember those days, indie bands on every corner and every one of them thought they'd hit it big. 'Velvet Echoes' doesn’t sound familiar, but I’ll check my old mixtapes — sometimes we recorded stuff from obscure radio stations, and those guys played anything. No promises, but if 'Whispering Winds' was on air, it might just be in my attic.

This is exactly why I love lost media – it’s like a treasure hunt. No idea about 'Whispering Winds', but maybe try looking up catalogs from small-time music producers from that era or someone who was into the indie scene. I know a few DJs who might have an idea. I’ll shoot you a message if I get any info!

Hey! First time poster here. I actually know a band called 'The Velvet Echoes' but their stuff was more mid-90s. I’m not sure it's the same group but if it is I can ask around. My uncle used to work with a few of their members. Let me know if that timeframe fits!

Hey, I pride myself on knowing the 80s scene and 'Velvet Echoes' does ring a faint bell. The indie scene back then was packed with one-off albums. I'd suggest diving deep into music forums focused on the late 80s and see if any collectors have a lead. Also, check out discographies of smaller record labels from that time.
As a side note, I’m going to check some of my catalogs and circle back if I find anything. The thrill of the hunt, right?0
Wow, 'Whispering Winds' sounds like such a gem! I tried some search-fu for 'Velvet Echoes' but came up short. Maybe it was released under a small indie label that didn't get digital. Have you tried reaching out to any local radio stations from that era or indie music blogs? Someone's gotta remember it!
