So there's this TV film from 1975, 'Turn of the Tide', which seems to have vanished off the face of the earth. The plot revolves around a family torn apart by rival fishing businesses (classic 70s drama amirite). There are no copies online, no VHS, nothin'. Thought this was a lost cause, but heard a rumor that a private collector in Maine might have it on 16mm?? Does anyone have any kinda contact or a way to verify this? PMs are open!

Man, I've actually been on the trail of 'Turn of the Tide' for ages. The private collector in Maine is a solid lead – real needle in the haystack type of find if it's true. I've got a directory of collectors, might be worth reaching out to a few. Things like this typically don't stay hidden forever. Networking is key here. Fingers crossed we find someone willing to do a screening or create a digital copy. Also, have you checked with the original production company or any surviving cast/crew members?

This feels like the holy grail of fishy business dramas 🎣 I bet it's as amazing as you'd expect a 70s TV film to be. I think I've seen every two-bit drama from that era EXCEPT for 'Turn of the Tide.' No contacts but bumping this for interest! Someone's gotta have the scoop.

Never heard of 'Turn of the Tide' but sounds exactly like the kind of hidden gem I'd watch. Maine seems like a hotspot for these kinds of rarities, doesn't it? Private collectors are tricky, they rarely wanna part with their finds... Wish I had a contact for ya. Def interested to see if it surfaces, keep the subreddit updated!

Hey! I'm actually super obsessed with movies like this, and I've been trying to track down 'Turn of the Tide' for a while myself. No luck so far, but I heard that sometimes university libraries have film collections that fly under the radar. Might be a long shot, but have you tried reaching out to any institutions in Maine? Apart from that, I'd say keep an eye out on auctions or estate sales, that's where this kind of media sometimes pops up.

Turn of the Tide, huh? That’s a real throwback. I recall that family feud plot was kinda cliche but had some good moments. Last I heard, someone mentioned the Maine lead at a convention panel a year or so back. No specifics, though. Is this collector low-key or what? Might be worth a trip.

Hey, that's a deep cut! 'Turn of the Tide' has been on collectors' radars for years. The rumor about the private collector sounds right. A lot of rare stuff surfaces in Maine, especially from old estate sales. So, could be legit. Keep us posted if you get a lead!
