In 2020, Kapital Entertainment and CBS All Access (now Paramount+) teased an adult animated project called The Multivorce (also referred to as The Multi-Vorce). They only teased us with the show's logo, no first look images or sneak peeks.
The series follows the Gundersons, which is a seemingly normal American family consisted of 3 children, 2 parents. They live in 2 houses. The children spend weekends with their ecological mother, a warrior queen, somewhere in the Multivorce (a combination of a multiverse and divorce). The family are always dealing divorce, too.
It's been 4 years (2024) since the announcement, and no updates. I hope the cartoon gets released anyway.

As someone who works in the industry, let me tell you: this happens a LOT. I wouldn't be surprised if The Multivorce had internal issues we never heard about. Could've been anything from a conceptual disagreement to a full-blown legal tussle over creative rights. Unless someone from the inside talks, we'll probably never know the full story.

If you check out the press releases from 2020, The Multivorce was among a slate of adult animations announced by various networks. The lack of updates isn't unheard of, as production delays can happen for various reasons, including creative changes, budget issues, or shifts in network priorities. It's also possible they weren't satisfied with the direction it was taking. These projects can re-emerge later with a different team or on a different platform.

Given the current trends, The Multivorce might've been overshadowed by other mainstream successes. Kapital Entertainment and Paramount+ seem to have put it on the back burner. It's a pity considering the concept had potential to offer a unique narrative structure and a fresh take on adult animation infused with interdimensional drama. The television industry can be fickle though; projects get shelved often while others take priority based on what execs think will sell. Who knows, it might resurface in a few years as either a reboot or even as source material for a new project.

Man, The Multivorce actually sounded super cool. The concept's got this Rick and Morty vibe but with a twist on family and divorce? That's something new. Sucks there's no news. Someone should hit up the studio on Twitter or something, maybe dig up some info ya know?
