Back then, in 1993, there was an advertisement that promoted several upcoming American channels. All of the advertised channels launched, and then closed sometime in 1996.
The channels were: 1. HBO Western 2. Starz! Entertainment 3. GoTV (owned by Disney, broadcasted Disney shows) 4. TCC USA
The last one is well known to many lost media seekers. TCC USA (referred to some magazines as America's TCC) was an American counterpart of TCC where they dubbed most British cartoons and programs for the American audience.
The dubs were all managed by an obscure dubbing studio called Sunday's Productions, who last produced a dub in 2005. The studio's website, thisissundays.us, has ben defunct since 2010, and has not been updated since.
The channel was speculated to have aired on satellite television, and was reportedly available to DirecTV consumers. The channel also aired online during its last years of operation (a Macromedia player was required to play the livestream).
There were also original programming made for TCC USA. Such as: The TCC USA Show, a talk show hosted by Fred Rogers.
The channel also had its own specific format of airing its programs: during mornings and afternoons, it would air children's programming, and at night, teenager oriented programming. The channel operated 24 hours.
The channel was also ad-free, and its primary sponsor was the BBC World Service Television, which helped bring TCC USA to other markets such as Australia, Canada, and some parts of Asia.
The channel was also known to have aired in Malaysia as part of Astro.
The channel is sadly obscure.

As someone in the animation industry, I'm all too familiar with how shows can just disappear. A lot of talented folks worked on dubs in the 90s, and it's sad to think their work on TCC USA is mostly dust in the wind. Here's to hoping somebody uncovers those recordings. There's a peculiar charm in localized adaptations of international media, and it’d be a defeat for animation history to let that fade away.

For all the tech heads out there, combing through the remnants of the defunct Sunday’s site via Wayback Machine might yield something. If TCC USA did stream their content online, perhaps archived digital traces exist. Let's also not discount old-school satellite forums where TV enthusiasts shared recording tips—somebody out there might’ve taped it without knowing what they had. It's a long shot, but if the content was digital, there's a chance of recovery, even if slim.

I spent months researching TCC USA for a deep dive and it's fascinating yet frustrating. The dubbing aspects especially intrigue me. Sunday’s Productions is like a ghost—no social media presence, and no response to emails (tried contacting whatever's left of them). The Fred Rogers talk show angle sounds almost far-fetched, but I spotted a vague mention in an old TV guide. It's as if TCC USA was some enigmatic project that was meant to be lost. Would love any other leads if anyone has ‘em.

Same. I have been looking for images of the station ident of TCC 2. But a Discord user named BlackJack2104E seems to have the idents. If you want to get the idents, just shoot him up and he'll come back to you.

I’m gonna be that guy but are we sure BlackJack2104E isn’t hoarding? A true archivist would share, not sit on a pile of idents like a dragon. We need these for posterity, so if anyone gets through to him, encourage uploading to a shared drive or something. And what's the deal with Sunday’s Productions anyways, barely any info on them... Almost feels like a wild goose chase with these obscure dubs, lol.

Broooo, TCC 2 idents are the holy grail, been on the hunt forever. I’ve messaged BlackJack2104E like a week ago, no response yet... I guess he gets tons of DMs? Hope he's cool with sharing. Can’t believe Fred Rogers hosted The TCC USA Show tho, that's news 2 me 🤯

Hey, before you hit up BlackJack2104E, have you checked the Wayback Machine for snapshots of thisissundays.us? Sometimes they have archived pages that might have images or maybe even clips. It’s a long shot, but I've found some gold on there in the past. Also, if BlackJack does share, make sure to archive it properly. Gotta preserve that media history!

It's really interesting to hear about American versions of British shows. I'm from the UK and loved TCC, but never knew there was a USA counterpart. Surprised there isn't more info about Sunday's Productions if they managed the dubs. Their work must be floating around somewhere, right? Could be a potential goldmine of unique takes on our classic shows.

Whoa, blast from the past with TCC USA! I vaguely remember catching bits of it at my grandma's place cuz she had DirecTV. Never knew it had a whole online streaming thing with a Macromedia player though, that’s kinda ahead of its time, wasn’t it? Too bad it's all gone now, would've been cool to see those dubs again.
