Diving deep into the world of puppetry and stumbled upon references to this super obscure show, 'String Mysteries'. No one seems to have footage or even pics. I'm all about preserving this kind of unique art. Anyone's parents remember the show or have any leads on where to find recordings?

I grew up in the 70s but don't remember this show. Seems like it could've been a local program or maybe a short-lived series. Have you checked eBay for old VHS or film reels? Sometimes collectors sell off batches of tapes without knowing exactly what's on them.

As someone who works in media archiving, this kind of thing is a tough nut to crack. 'String Mysteries' would probably be stored on physical film reels if it was archived at all, which means we're at the mercy of degradation and loss. Only a few enthusiasts tend to keep these kinds of things. I could put out some feelers to my contacts. No promises, but sometimes you get lucky.

You piqued my curiosity! I did a deep dive, checked some TV programming archives and asked around in some nostalgic forums with no luck yet... I won't give up tho. If I find anything, I'll post an update here. Keep us in the loop if you find footage first!

Hey! Puppet enthusiast here! I remember my folks mentioning 'String Mysteries' but they never had recordings. I heard it might've aired on local stations so might be tough to find. Have you tried reaching out to libraries or archivists? Sometimes they have gems hidden away!
