Okay fam, been searching for ages for the uncut version of 'The Thief and the Cobbler.' The 'Recobbled Cut' is out there, but I'm talkin about the OG stuff, you know? Before it got handed over to the studio and got butchered. I've heard rumors there's an uncut workprint floating around. Anyone got deets on this? Heck, even a snippet would be gold.

Remember watching parts of Williams' work as a kid, the man was a visionary. Saw the Recobbled Cut on VHS ages ago. It's a piece of art, true, but incomplete. Uncut original would be a miracle to find, but I'm not holding my breath. It's a piece of animation history we gotta accept is... kinda lost.

Hey, if you're really intent on this quest, I suggest reaching out to film preservationists or private collectors. I heard whispers of a guy in Europe who has something, but it's all hush-hush. Protecting their precious, y'know? Gotta be part of their inner circle or something. Might even require an adventure worthy of Tack himself to get your hands on it.

hey so i been diggin around for years collecting rare toons and stuff and let me tell ya, the uncut thief and the cobbler's like trying to find a diamond in a haystack. there's this one dude on a niche forum who claimed his uncle had a reel but that was a bust - turned out to be just another recobbled version. best bet is to hit up old animators or collectors who were in the biz back in the day. long shot, but who knows.

Greetings. While it is true that several workprints exist, Richard Williams never fully completed the film to his original vision. The Recobbled Cut by Garrett Gilchrist is perhaps the closest approximation to what Williams intended. Although there are rumors of a 'lost' cut, the reality is that most of these materials were either never fully animated or have been lost to time. The best course for any enthusiast is to support and document what is left rather than chase legends that may lead to dead ends.

Ah, the holy grail of lost animation. The backstory of 'The Thief and the Cobbler' is insane. The purported 'uncut' version, as we know it, probably doesn't exist in complete form anymore. The Recobbled Cut is the nearest we've got, pieced together from Williams' work before Warner Bros. stepped in. It's gonna be hella tough to find anything more original than that.
