It's been years piecing together the scattered evidence around the indie horror film 'Delilah's Last Laugh.' Directed by an obscure auteur, the movie premiered at a small midnight festival in '78 and then vanished. Attendees recall gruesome practical effects and a disturbingly realistic portrayal of madness.
Here's what I got: - An interview snippet from a local newspaper with director J. R. Haynes stating, 'The film is my life's blood, and it reflects the darkest corners of the soul.' - A torn poster with a chilling image of Delilah's face peering from the shadows. - Ticket stubs that trace back to the small cinema, The Gargoyle, rumored to have shut down due to a mysterious fire a week after the showing.
Finding the film could shed light on the underground horror scene of the 70s and Haynes' controversial artistry. Any leads on surviving reels, fellow lost media detectives?

Wow, this is like a movie mystery in itself! I'm new to this subreddit, but isn't there a possibility that university archives could hold a copy? I think some indie directors used to stash their works with schools. Maybe an art college database? Just thinking aloud here.

Interesting find! Delilah's Last Laugh is almost myth at this point. I may have a lead on a guy who deals in rare film paraphernalia. He mentioned something about a fire-damaged reel from the late 70s that could fit the bill. Can't promise anything, but I'll follow up and let you know if it pans out.

Yoooo, Delilah's the real deal. Or at least that's what I wanna believe. The shadowy face poster is enough to get me hooked on the mystery. I saw a discussion about some old indie horror archives in New York. Might be worth a shot if someone's around there.

Delilah's Last Laugh, yeah I remember chatter bout that flick from way back. Theater burned down, super fishy stuff. Heard local news archives from that period got some info but it's all on microfilm. Anyone close to The Gargoyle's location might wanna hit the library. They had local film fest listings back then, might find somethin.

Did some poking around and found an old forum thread from ‘05. Apparently, there was a guy claiming to have a 16mm copy. Username was SilverScreenFiend or smth like that. His account's dead now, but maybe someone over there remembers something else?

Ah Delilah's Last Laugh, that's a tough nut to crack. Been on the hunt for ages. Word is a couple of collectors might have snatched a reel but they're keeping it tight to the chest. Check out underground film swaps or private collector forums. Good luck, gonna need it with this one.
