Lost in the Toy Section...HELP!

OK, so my kid dragged me into Kmart for some new toys or whatever. I swear it's a jungle in here! Can't tell a LOL doll from a Shopkin... Ain't this supposed to be simple? What do you folks buy for a 7-year-old that won't end up in a junk pile in 2 weeks? SOS from the toy aisles!

A yo-yo. Trust me. They'll be so confused trying to get it to work, they won't have time to get bored. Plus if you're lucky, they'll perfect some tricks and you got a circus act right at home lmao.

All toys end up in the junk pile eventually. Might as well save your money and get 'em a cardboard box. They use it to make a fort, a spaceship, whatever. Best imagination toy ever.

Stuffed animals... never underestimate the power of a cuddly friend. They last forever and somehow they're always there when your kid needs a hug :)

Why not some board games? Go old school with Monopoly, Sorry!, or Life. Teach 'em about competition, strategy, and it's something the whole fam can do together.

Arts and crafts kits are my go-to. Keeps 'em busy, gets the creativity going, and there's something nice to keep (or gift) at the end. Plus, the cleanup ain't too bad.

Grab some legos. Classic and indestructible. Unless you step on one, then it's just you that's gonna be destructed, haha.

Oh the joys of toy shopping 😅 For a 7yo, maybe try STEM toys? Keep 'em learning while playing. I got my kiddo a Snap Circuits set and it's been a hit. Keeps them engaged for hours and it's educational!
