As a tech geek and a dog lover, I'm looking to merge my two passions. I want to track my dog's daily activities, set exercise goals, and monitor his rest for optimum health. I'm all for using tech to enhance our pets' lives, but don't forget to pay attention to your dog's natural cues, too. No monitor can replace the insight you get from actually observing and knowing your pet. As for the monitors, I've used PetPace for a health-focused approach. Not the cheapest, but very comprehensive.

Link AKC is the bomb.com! Sleek design, not clunky at all, step count, GPS, and the app has vet records storage which is pretty neat. For the human sync, I think you’ll have to juggle between apps for now. But hey, nothing a true techie can't handle, am I right?

I’m all about the Whistle Go Explore. Monitors a ton of activities, tracks location and has health monitoring features. It's waterproof too, which is great for my lab who loves to swim. Its app is pretty comprehensive, but not sure about syncing with human apps. Might need a workaround for that.
