My neighbor's dog won't stop barking - I'm going insane!!

It's like, 5AM, and this dog has been barking for hours. I can't even. I've tried asking them nicely to do something about it, but NOPE. Nothing's changed. Do I call the cops? Animal control? Somebody save me from this nightmare.

lol, my dog's barking now just from reading your post. Give the dog a megaphone, why don't ya? But yeah, earplugs maybe? Or join a heavy metal band; drown it out with guitar solos 🎸😈

First thing in the morning, check your local ordinances. Noise laws can be pretty specific – time, decibel levels, duration. Gather that evidence. And if they DO break those laws, get law enforcement involved. And keep on it. Persistence is key with these sort of nuisances.

This is exactly why I'm scared to live next to dog owners. Doesn't sound like they care. Maybe a complaint to the landlord or HOA if you got those?

The dog could be barking for a reason, maybe it's anxious or lonely? Try expressing your concerns for the dog's wellbeing when you talk to the neighbors again, it might be more persuasive.

Before escalating to authorities, try a more diplomatic approach. Write a calm and collected letter explaining how it affects you, maybe even getting other neighbors on board could add weight. Offer to help find ways to manage the dog's barking. These situations can be resolved amicably more often than not.

Oh dear, that sounds awful! Call animal control if you suspect neglect. Otherwise, cops aren't usually helpful for barking complaints unless you've got noise ordinances they're breaking. Check local laws maybe? Document everything too, just in case.

Have you tried barking back? Just kidding... but imagine their faces 😂 But on a serious note, maybe a noise machine to drown out the barking?

Ugh, feel you. Can't believe they haven't done anything even after asking! Definitely try talking to them again but this time maybe suggest solutions? Like anti-bark collars or training classes? If they don't listen, then maybe it's time to look into noise complaint laws in your area.
