Back in my day...

Back in my day, DK games were HARD. None of this 'funky mode' and extra lives clutter. You had to earn those victories with blood, sweat and maybe a few tears. Game design’s gone soft, I tell ya.

Ya'll talking about the standard game but Time Attack and 100% runs are where it's at. THAT's the true challenge, whether it's the old or new games. Casual mode is just for chillin'.

Old school games didn't just teach you how to play, they taught RESILIENCE. But I'll confess, sometimes I'd kill for an instant save back in the day 😅

I dunno man, Tropical Freeze is no walk in the park at times, even without Funky Mode. Some of those secret levels are brutal.

I mean, I get nostalgia, but the old games are still there if you want a challenge, right? The new modes help more people enjoy the game which is awesome. Plus, you gotta admit, Funky Kong is pretty cool. 😎

I hear you, but gotta say I appreciate the modern 'quality of life' improvements. New players can enjoy the games without getting scared off by the old school punishment. Keeps the franchise alive and kicking for all ages, y'know?

Totally get where you're coming from! The original DK Country on SNES was a nightmare at times. Then again, being able to save your game was a godsend compared to the unrelenting Arcade.
