Donkey Kong in Smash Bros

DK mains, how are you dealing with the current Smash meta? I feel like DK's still solid but struggles against the more agile characters. I'm all about that ground pound and trying to space aerial backhands, but some matchups are just brutal. Any advanced tips out there?

Remember the good ol' days when DK's up-B on ground was the panic button? Good times... But for real, the current meta's tough on heavyweights. Keep your gameplay fluid and remember that sometimes the best move is to be unpredictable. Throw in some unexpected down-b or up-tilts to keep 'em guessing. And just have fun, DK's all about that!

What really made a difference for me was learning all about stage control. Force your opponent to the edge and DK's powerful back throw becomes a serious threat. And yeah, those agile characters are tough, but remember DK's down tilt trip can create opportunities and mess with their flow. Get your edge guarding down too, DK's nair and fair can spike if timed right...

Yo, DK's dash attack is seriously underrated. It can cross up shields and if they miss the tech, you can get a free follow up. Just don’t get predictable, switch up ur strategies often.

If you’re serious about maining DK, positioning is everything. Work on your pivot grabs and reverse aerial rush to make the most out of DK's range. Understand your opponent's character and what they're likely to do. A lot of it is reading your opponent and reacting fast. Learn when to shield and go for a shield grab, and when to space your back airs. Punish game is crucial. And plank with your Up-B when recovering, it's got armor and can mess up edgeguards.

DK's like the heavyweight boxer of Smash, gotta weave in and out. Don't forget about b-reversing your Giant Punch to mix up your landing, it can really throw people off. And using your tilts effectively, especially up-tilt, anti-airs so many approaches. Just gotta keep moving and grooving lol

Been playing DK since the early Smash days and the meta definitely has its challenges. You gotta make every grab count, because DK's cargo throw game is a beast. Mix up with down throw to tech chases on fast fallers. Also, learn the percents for cargo up throw into up air against floaties. It's all about baiting and punishing with DK, not easy but super satisfying when you read 'em right.
