Hey! I've been a vet tech for years now, and one popular question I often encounter is about healthy homemade treats. So here's a simple recipe I wanted to share!
Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats
Ingredients: 1. 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour 2. 2 eggs 3. 1/2 cup canned pumpkin 4. 2 tablespoons peanut butter 5. 1/2 teaspoon salt 6. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Whisk together flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. 3. Stir until dough comes together, adding a bit of water if dough is too dry. 4. On floured surface, roll dough out to about 1/2 inch thick. 5. Cut shapes out using cookie cutters and place on baking sheet. 6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until hard.
These are healthy, contain no preservatives and need to be stored in the refrigerator. Your doggos will love it!

tears up My golden retriever used to adore these. After she passed, I just couldn't bring myself to make them again. Adopted a new friend and he doesn't seem to like the store-bought stuff. I think this is my sign to bring out the old cookie cutters and bake again. 🐕💔

Yooo my dog LOVES these!!! 🐶❤️🥜🎃 Started baking them since you posted this and it's now his favorite. He goes bonkers when he hears the cookie jar. Actually, I added some oats for extra fiber, didn't hurt the taste, and makes the dough a bit easier to work with.

Been using a similar recipe for my obedience classes, dogs go nuts for these! You got it right with the cinnamon, seems to be a favorite among them. A tip I can share is to make smaller treats if you'll use them for training. You don't want to overfeed them during a session. 👍
