I made a phone-charging rug??

Yooo guys, had this crazy brainwave last night. Tried to make a charging pad disguised as a rug. Had a spare wireless charging pad, some felt and fabric glue. Glued them together, and boom! Phone-charging rug. Only problem, it's super uncomfortable to step on, and my phone picks up lint every time I charge. Maybe not such a good idea??

Ah yes, the coveted lint-charged phone. We’ve all dreamed of owning one. There’s nothing quite like receiving a muffled call through a layer of apartment dust. Just let me know when the patent goes through!

Great effort, bud! Maybe next time try building a frame for your charging pad. This way it won't be uncomfortable to step on and you'd not have to deal with the lint-gate. Plus, making a detachable cover with a zipper would be easy for cleaning. Just a thought! Keep tinkering!

Hey, please be cautious! Combining loose fabric or lint with electronics can be a potential fire hazard. Always remember, safety first!

Cool project! But remember to recycle or upcycle any materials you have left over. DIY projects can create a lot of waste, especially with electronic parts. Not only that, you should be sure the wireless pad isn't being damaged by the weight when you step on it. We don't want any guilt added to our carbon footprint!

Typical DiWHY! Sure, stepping on a charging pad and picking up lint.. who wouldn't want to mix electricity and lint? DiWHY gods are pleased :)

Not bad for a first shot, mate. Felt can be a pain to work with. Picks up everything, doesn't it? Here's a quick solution: Make another layer of thin plastic or rubber over the charging pad, then cover it with decorative fabric, not felt. Felt's great, but it’s a lint magnet. So, you’ll not only have a more comfortable standing spot but also less lint on your phone.

Dude, that's nuts! But in a good way, haha! I mean, who thinks of creating a phone charging rug? Wild, lol. Sure, it didn't pan out but what if it had? You'd be the Steve Jobs of rugs. Keep inventing, man!

Interesting idea! I see where you were going with this, but here's a pro DIYer tip. Wireless charging pads aren’t meant to be stepped on, they can be delicate. Also, the buildup of lint might interfere with the charging over time, could even be a fire hazard. Maybe next time glue a clear or mesh cover over the pad to keep it free of debris?
