Awareness TV was a TV channel that aired on Sky for a short time. It primarily focused on programs centered on wellness and self-improvement. Unfortunately, it didn't manage to garner enough interest or viewership and was short-lived. Worth a deep dive if you're into the history of gone-and-forgotten TV channels.

I don't think it was. It was Sky's self-promotional TV channel owned by Canis Media where all they did was broadcast fish from 6 AM to 8 PM.
They did not broadcast any other content.

Yep. Those were the times. Awareness TV aka Fish TV haha. I actually enjoyed it, ya know. Something calming about watching fish do their thing. Seemed pointless but was oddly entertaining. Brought back memories though. Wish they still had unconventional channels like this.

Hmmm, I don't remember that one. Was it around in the early 00s? Sky had so many channels back then!

It was in 2008.

While it's easy to dismiss self-promotion channels, they actually served a useful function in the late 2000's and early 2010's when digital TV was really starting to take off. Awareness TV as an example showcased a mix of Sky’s HD programming and promotional material. Helped people become aware of what was on offer. So, it wasn't all that pointless.

Yeah, that's right. It was introduced by Sky in 2008. Quite an interesting concept actually. A channel dedicated to self-promotion. They were really pushing for quality content back then. I remember those days. A lot of channels popped up during that time.

Awareness TV, very interesting! It was an obscure UK TV channel that briefly ran on Sky. The whole focus was on well-being, self-improvement, and mindfulness. I believe it featured programs like yoga, fitness, nutrition and stuff. Not sure about the specific programs it aired, as it didn't last long. Might have been too niche or ahead of its time, given the boom in interest in mindfulness and wellness recently.

It wasn't.

Nah mate, you're confusing things. It was called Awareness TV because it informed Sky customers about new features and updates on the service. They'd also promote their own shows. Didn't broadcast external programs. it's like an ad channel more than anything else.
