VHS Tapes of the Obscure U62 Channel

Hey fellow TV historians! I've managed to score a box of old VHS tapes at a yard sale and some of them have recordings from the U62 channel! It's like a time capsule - local commercials, amateurish sitcoms, and midnight B-movie specials. I'm in the process of digitizing them. Would anyone here be interested in a viewing party when I'm done? Might be fun to watch some truly underappreciated TV history!

U62 is a gem amongst channels. The nostalgia hit from those VHS tapes must be intense 😲 If you happen to find any old kids shows in there, I’m super interested in those – they were so creative and weird compared to today's. Full support on the digitization effort, and I’d be down to help with the viewing party.

Those U62 sitcoms were awesomely bad, weren't they? No writers room, just a couple of chaps trying to make each other laugh. Definitely nostalgic for those simpler times in TV land. Let us know when the party is, I’ve gotta see them again!

Would kill to see those old commercials! Local ads from back in the day are like a-time travel experience into the business and culture of the time. Preserve them well; they're invaluable to enthusiasts and historians alike.

lol, enjoy your grainy, low effort tv shows... broadcast tv was always a dumpster fire, especially the local stuff. might drop in just to see how bad it was 😂

Midnight B-movie specials?? COUNT ME IN!!! 🎥💀 Nothing like some good ol' cheese-fest to soothe the soul. I've been collecting main-stream B-movies for years, but this obscure stuff is pure gold!

Just joined the subreddit. Is U62 the channel that had the crazy late-night horror host? I think my uncle used to talk about it. Never thought I'd see something from it firsthand! I'm so in for watching these.

no way!! U62 is legendary, that DIY feel to those shows is irreplaceable, can't replicate that these days 😭 def count me in for the viewing party, hit me up with dates and times!

This is super cool! U62 content is rare and often goes unnoticed. There's something special about the raw, unpolished feel of local TV from the pre-digital era. I’d definitely be interested in a viewing party and I’d love to see any merchandise or branded content from U62 if you come across any. Keep us posted on the digitization progress! 👀📼
