lol seeing ppl here mourn old channels like they were pure gold. Heard of MTV? Haha, that channel DIED when it stopped playing music. RIP real MTV, everything else is just reality show rubbish. 😂 Guess the ‘M’ now stands for 'Meh' amirite???

Man, this thread is a rollercoaster. The old MTV is like a lost love – you look back with such fondness. The thrill of staying up late just to catch your fave music video, the VJs who were practically your friends... Now it's all scripted 'reality'. Such a shame.

The metamorphosis of MTV is fascinating yet bittersweet. Once heralded as the undeniable heart of music broadcasting, its pivot toward reality programming highlights broader industry shifts -- the quest for ratings, the gravitation toward scandals and melodrama. A strategic move, perhaps, but far from the innovative force it was destined to be. The channel that once launched pop culture into the stratosphere is now overwhelmed by the very noise it helped create.

RIP real MTV, the channel that defined a generation. These days? It's just a husk of its former self. They sold out, chasing the reality TV craze. I remember the MTV Unplugged sessions, those were the days of genuine music entertainment. Now? Meh indeed 😒

I mean, yeah, the 'M' in MTV has lost its original meaning, but channels evolve to survive, you know? Sure, it's not the non-stop music juggernaut it once was, but that's just the way TV goes. Adapt or die. And let's be real, some of those reality shows are my guilty pleasure 😅

Totally with you on this. The MTV we grew up with is long gone. Remember when you'd come home, switch on the TV, and there were actual MUSIC videos playing? Golden days, man. Now every time I flip through the channels and pause on MTV, all I see is reality TV, def not the music revolution it used to be.
