UPN and The WB, these were the real MVPs

Every 90s kid will tell ya, UPN and The WB shaped our tastes. Buffy, Roswell, SmackDown!, Moesha... these were more than just shows; they were our weeknight hangout seshs. Kinda miss those simple days when TV actually defined our social lives.

Yeah, miss them I guess, but remember how often they'd change show schedules without warning? Drove me nuts. TV's come a long way since.

Fun fact, UPN and The WB merged in 2006 to become The CW. It was a historic moment in television cause it combined the audiences and paved way for some iconic shows. They were MVPs but imagine if they never merged, so much TV history we might've lost.

Watching 'Roswell' was the highlight of my week, so many memories hanging out and crushing on the characters. UPN had the shows that you couldn't find anywhere else. 'Moesha', 'Star Trek: Voyager', and 'SmackDown!' were television at its peak for sure.

Def the good ol' days! Every show was an event, and it's like we all shared that moment across the country. Streaming's cool and all, but it lacks the community vibe - watching Buffy the same night and freaking out together. Miss that.

lol that's ancient history, who even watches TV anymore 😂 Streaming has all these shows without the ads. Networks are a thing of the past.

What many folks don't remember is that UPN and The WB were pivotal in diversifying TV content during the 90s and early 2000s. Shows like Buffy and Roswell broke the mold for female and sci-fi lead roles, respectively. Also, UPN's 'Moesha' was crucial in bringing African American-led sitcoms into the mainstream. Nostalgia aside, they shaped a lot of what TV looks like today.

Yeah, UPN and WB had some great shows. But let's not forget how many shows got the axe way before their time. It was brutal when they just cut off a story mid-season.

Totally feel this. UPN and The WB weren't just channels, they were the gateways to our culture back then. I remember rushing homework just to catch the latest Buffy episode and talking about it the next day at school. And SmackDown! omg, those were the best matches ever. Don't even get me started on UPN's reruns of old sitcoms. Pure gold.
