I can’t walk by a toy section without getting hit with a megawave of nostalgia for Toys ‘R’ Us. That was THE palace as a kid. Floor-to-ceiling toys, games, those mini Jeeps you wished you could drive home. RIP Geoffrey the Giraffe, no one's childhood should be without you. I bet half of us wouldn’t be the same without those epic toy runs.

Toys ‘R’ Us didn’t just sell toys, it was a cultural phenomenon. Geoffrey the Giraffe became an icon of childhood joy. It's sad to think of all the now-adults who will tell tales of this 'mythical' place where toys ruled and how the glittering isles shaped their fondest childhood moments.

Toys ‘R’ Us had the best exclusives back in the day. Remember their video game section? I'd spend hours just staring at the games, reading the backs of the boxes. Now I collect retro toys, stuff I first saw there. Wish the next gen could experience that.

Honestly tho, kids today are missing out. Clicking a button just isn’t the same as running through those aisles with glee. I try to tell my kid about Geoffrey and the feeling of being in a toy heaven, but it's just not the same with all the digital alternatives today.
