Here's the tea. Borders had it all. Comfy chairs, dope music selection, and coffee that actually tasted like coffee. Their reward program was legit, too. But they got too big too fast, and their online strategy was whack. (Who teams up with Amazon to sell their stuff? Come on!) They never recovered from the debt - filed for bankruptcy in 2011 and that's all she wrote. Still, every time I pass a B&N, I can't help but feel like we lost the better book giant. #BordersForever

To be fair, Borders’ sales rack was the stuff of legend. I scored so many deals there. The bargain section at B&N never seemed to match up. But let’s not forget B&N’s got the better online presence nowadays, which does count for something.

Borders had its charm, but it wasn't just the online strategy that did them in. Overexpansion, overstocking, and higher-than-average prices were all nails in that coffin. B&N smartly focused on sustainable growth. But yeah, Borders had a better atmosphere, won't argue there.

Borders was okay, but idk, I think you might be looking through rose-colored glasses. Comfy chairs? Only if you got there before they were all taken. And their rewards were good, but their prices weren’t any better than B&N. Plus, B&N survived, so don’t they get points for that?

100% with you on Borders. The atmosphere was just more inviting. And let's talk about those seasonal promotions they had, unbeatable! Honestly, B&N has never come close to giving me that 'hidden in the stacks' magical feeling Borders did. #Bordersmemories

Ah, Borders, good times... I seriously miss their selection of music and the vibe was just different, you know? B&N is all right I guess, not the same though. I used to spend hours just chilling in Borders with a good book. Their rewards program was def better too. Miss those days.
