I miss the excitement of going to Circuit City as a kid. You walk in, and it's like tech heaven, all bright and red. DVD players, big-screen TVs, and PC games. I remember the sales reps in their high-waisted khakis trying to sell warranties. Now it's all a distant memory, been gone since 2009. Best Buy won the battle, I guess. RIP Circuit City, the ghost in the machine.

RIP Circuit City, indeed. They're a case study in business schools now, showing how not adapting to market changes can lead to the downfall of even the biggest retail giants. Ironic how at one point they were the ones putting small electronics shops out of business and then got taken out by the rise of e-commerce and management missteps. Gone, but clearly not forgotten in the memories of us techies.

And let's not forget the incredible chaos of Black Friday sales at Circuit City. The stampede for discount DVDs and flash sales on printers was the stuff of legends. Honestly, it’s like a war story we all share now, ‘survived Circuit City BF 2006’. Who needs that stress? 😆

PC game selection was the best at Circuit City! Picking up a new game in those big boxes full of manuals and maps, that was like Christmas every time. Nothing today compares to the feeling of peeling the shrink wrap off a new game outside the store.

Best Buy vs Circuit City was like the cola wars for electronics. Each had its fans. I won't lie, I loved the excitement of testing out the gigantic TVs at Circuit City, it felt like an event every visit. Real shame they couldn't keep up with the times.

There was something special about Circuit City's setup. Those huge signs hanging from the ceiling, the latest gadgets on display. Remember when they were the first to retail DivX discs before DVD totally took over? They were ahead of their time in some ways, but not enough to keep them afloat. RIP indeed.

Circuit City was alright, but remember how pushy those sales reps were with the warranties? They’d hover like vultures the moment you glanced at a CD player. Good times, but kinda glad Best Buy's a bit less aggressive. At least where I live.
