Does anyone remember Look and Read?

It is a series that had the audacity to bring in numerous series in 1 single show. E.g. in 1989, we got Through the Dragon's Eye, in 1981 Dark Towers, and in 1982/1983 Fair Ground.

They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but Look and Read surely taught this old dog a lot of English and grammar back in the days! I remember getting to watch it in class was the best part of the week, almost felt like we were cheating.

Fair Ground was class. Were the kids from that one the same as in every school programme or did the BBC have like three child actors on repeat back then?

Oh Look and Read, educational but with enough spook to put you off your lunch. Remember when TV shows didn't coddle kids? Yeah, good times. Good times.

Whoa, that's a blast from the past! Through the Dragon's Eye was life when I was a kid. Always wanted a magical pencil of my own to draw doorways to other worlds. Imagine the trouble I'd get into.

Ha! 'Audacity' is one word for it - I'd call it a 'budget solution'. Got to love those BBC cost-cutting measures: throw everything into one show and hope the kids get educated! Mind you, it worked. I remember more about Geography from 'Through the Dragon's Eye' than from my actual teacher.

Never heard of Look and Read before, but it sounds epic. How come they don't do stuff like this for kids nowadays? Cheers for the nostalgia, gonna see if I can find some episodes online.

Dark Towers, yes! Who could forget the friendly ghost Tall Knight and those spooky dogs? That show got me into reading big time. The story had me hooked and hanging on every episode. Brings back memories of school that does.

Through the Dragon's Eye was my jam! That show was a huge part of my childhood. So many hours spent in front of the telly watching that magical Charn painting and those trippy adventures in Pelamar. They don't make 'em like that anymore!
