Gourmet Candy Bar Recipe

Yo sweet-toothed peeps, ready to up your candy bar game? I got you covered with this homemade gourmet candy bar that's gonna knock your socks off. Here we go:

Chocolate Layer: - 300g high-quality dark chocolate, chopped - 1 tbsp coconut oil

Nougat Layer: - 2 egg whites - 1 cup sugar - 1/4 cup light corn syrup - 1/4 tsp salt - 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Caramel Layer: - 1 cup sugar - 6 tbsp butter - 1/2 cup heavy cream - Pinch of salt

Nut Layer: - 1 1/2 cups roasted almonds

Melt chocolate and coconut oil together until smooth, then pour half into a lined baking tray. Freeze it! Whip up nougat ingredients until it looks like... well, nougat. Spread on frozen chocolate. Freeze again.

For caramel, cook sugar until amber, add butter, stir, then cream - boom! Pour it over the nougat. Guess what? Freeze!

Press almonds into the caramel. Freeze for good measure. Pour remaining chocolate on top. One. Last. Time. Freeze!

After it's set, cut the bar into pieces and try not to eat them all at once. You're welcome!

Tried making this and the chocolate layer’s perfect but my nougat’s more like rock! Totally messed up. I think I overwhipped? Or maybe my freezer’s set too high? How do you even tell when nougat’s done? 😩

Appreciate the share, but folks, temper your chocolate if you want a shiny finish and that crisp snap. The coconut oil can make it softer which is fine if you’re into that. And definitely invest in a candy thermometer; guessing games don’t end well with caramel.

Ok, not gonna lie, just looking at all the steps made me grab a Snickers. 😂 But, I bookmarked it for a rainy day... Or like, when I'm feeling ambitious, which is like never. One day though, this masterpiece will be mine!

Just tried my hand at this & it’s legit the best candy bar I've ever had. Followed the recipe to a T. It’s impressive, much wow! Gotta say though, took me a bit longer with all the freezing. Any tips to speed that part up?

Hey all, longtime candy maker here. Solid recipe but here’s a tip—if you replace almonds with candied pecans, you'll get a nice crunch with an extra flavor kick! Also, if the caramel's tricky, try a touch of lemon juice—it prevents crystallization.

This recipe sounds amazing! 🤩 Quick question tho - can I sub something else for the corn syrup? Tryin to avoid it if I can. Oh and has anyone tried it with milk chocolate instead? Dark's a bit too bitter for me.
