Welcome to the chaos! 🙃 I found that keeping a journal helped immensely. And get a pet. I'm serious, my kittehs have seen me thru so many breakdowns. Get a fuzzy or a feathery friend. Also, don't be hard on yourself. Healing isn't a linear process.

Therapist here.
Getting the diagnosis is a huge first step. Now that you know what you're dealing with, you can begin the process of healing.
Understand that C-PTSD, or Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, occurs as a result of prolonged or repetitive trauma. It's not a one-size-fits-all diagnosis, and everyone experiences it differently. It's not just about flashbacks and dissociations, it can surface in forms of emotional dysregulation, changing personal beliefs or relational difficulties.
Start with trauma-centered therapies like EMDR or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Look for therapists who specialize in trauma. Grounding techniques and mindfulness can help manage symptoms and therapy will help processing the trauma.
Books like 'The Body Keeps the Score' by Bessel van der Kolk and 'Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving' by Pete Walker can provide a good starting point.
Best of luck in your journey to healing.

Hey, it can be overwhelming at first. It's like trying to read a book in a whirling tornado. My advice, accept where you are. It's okay to feel lost. Reach out to therapists who have a firm grip on trauma-centric therapy. Take it slow and commit to the journey of understanding yourself. A lotta us 'been where you're standing right now, we're rooting for ya.

Welcome to the club, mate! Think of it as being handed a really tough video game controller with the manual missing. Lots of trial and error, lots of boss battles (hello, flashbacks!), but you level up like crazy. Start with understanding what triggers you and work on grounding techniques. Welcome pack with lotion for stress-induced acne not included lol.
