The CBeebies Broadcast Interruption Incident

This needs its categorisation as a downright strange event in showbiz. The time is estimated to be between 8:38 and 8:44pm, on 27th March, 2009. The program on air, 'Postman Pat', was interrupted by sudden blackout. When the broadcast resumed, it wasn't our friendly postman but a motionless clown, expression forlorn, against a backdrop of chaos. While some chunks of footage are reported to be missing, and there has been no official comment from the CBeebies, numerous households claim to remember this nightmare-inducing event till today. Freaky stuff mate!!

This incident would actually make for a pretty gripping psychological horror film if you think about it. Eerie clown disturbing an otherwise innocent children's show, unexplained blackout, no official statement... That's some grade-A script material right there.

This is why I limit screen time for my kids. Who knows what else they're broadcasting. I'd rather they read a book or play outside. Much safer.

What you don't know is that there was allegedly an insider who got fired from CBeebies right before this event, and they claim they were let go because they knew too much about this incident. Apparently, it was an iniciative designed to experiment with kids' psychological tolerance. Don't quote me, this is all rumours but who knows! :O

We were just about to see if Pat could deliver that oversized parcel, and then boom! Clown city. Still ticked off about it. Who interrupts Postman Pat?! Disgraceful!

Was that 2009? Geez, I can't remember. I think my memory's getting worse with age. I do vaguely recall a clown and the sudden blackout though. Not sure I'd call it nightmare-inducing, but definitely strange.

I've heard so many theories about this one: signal hacking, rogue employees, even government cover-ups! But what strikes me as the weirdest part is the complete lack of an official statement.

Ah man, you brought back so many memories with this! I saw that broadcast live and let me tell you, it was pretty freaky. That clown still haunts me, it was like something straight out of Stephen King's novel... shivers
