Is cbbc as good as it used to be?

So, real talk, does anyone else think cbbc has kinda lost its way? imo the shows back in the 00s had way more charm. It feels like everything's super polished now and missing that raw creativity. Maybe it's just nostalgia goggles idk. What's your take?

Yeah kinda miss the handmade feel of the older shows. Everything's too slick now. Wish they'd bring some of the 00s creativity back.

Lol 00s shows weren't better, you're just old and grumpy. New shows will beat the old ones any day of the week 😂

We can't ignore the role nostalgia plays in how we perceive older series. We grew up with those shows, so they hold a special place in our hearts. As an aspiring creator, I believe current CBBC shows still have a lot of creativity and passion behind them. It's just that the delivery has adapted to present-day expectations. Our fond memories can sometimes paint older shows in a brighter light than they might objectively deserve.

idk, some new ones are alright. like 'Danger Mouse' reboot is kinda cool. sure, it's not the same, but still fun.

That's an interesting debate. Shows from the 00s indeed had a different charm, largely due to the different pacing and storytelling techniques. There was less technology then, so creators had to rely more on narrative creativity. Now, the polished look of shows reflects our advancements but can make them seem less 'raw'. However, it's not all gloomy; modern shows can deal with complex themes adeptly amidst the gloss. It might not be that the creativity is gone, just that it's shifted its expression in line with contemporary expectations and technology.

I think it's an evolution thing, you know? Industries change, and so does children's television. The shift towards digital animation and high production quality isn't necessarily bad, but I agree it can sacrifice some of that spontaneous feel older shows had. We shouldn't forget that modern shows have strong points, like better representation and updated humor that resonates with today's kids. Still, it's cool to reminisce about the charm of older series.

Totally feel you. The 2000s era had classics like 'The Story of Tracy Beaker' and 'Raven'. Shows today don't have that same vibe, probs cuz they focus too much on looking good than being good. Miss the old days!
