Bowser's Inside Story – Battle Mechanics Underappreciated?

Anyone else feels like the battle mechanics in 'Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story' don't get enough love? Combining traditional turn-based combat with timing-based moves made every encounter engaging. And playing as Bowser added so much to the formula! You had to punch, breath fire, and even rally troops. It made you feel so powerful. Mastering Bowser's moves was the best part of the game, hands down.

Just the right amount of action for my taste. Plus I loved the humor. Punching as Bowser never got old lol

The whole concept of battling inside and outside Bowser is pure genius. You literally get to see the effects of both fronts. Plus, those moments when Bowser powers up thanks to the bros? Peak comedy and strategy right there.

Remember playing this back in the day. The mix of action and RPG elements was legit, nothing like it at the time. Now everyone's all about fast-paced action and open-world stuff. Miss these clever mechanics. They don't make 'em like Inside Story anymore!

Bowser? Powerful? Pfft. Should've just let Mario handle it all, way more efficient 😜

The intricacies of Bowser's Inside Story combat system are criminally underrated. Timing your attacks and defenses isn't just about reflexes, it's about understanding enemy patterns and tells. There's a rhythm to it that, once mastered, makes normal turn-based RPGs feel static. And the badge system? A stroke of genius that added a layer of strategy beyond 'hit em hard'.

Totally agree with you! The battle mechanics were so dynamic. I especially loved the giant battles where you turned the DS sideways - gave me the chills every time lol. Made it feel like an epic movie!
