Recreating lost episodes, who’s in?

Hey, I've been thinking, we've got the scripts from some of the wiped episodes, why not try to recreate them? Could crowdsource voices, use some animation or maybe even some re-enactment? It’d be like our way of filling in the blanks. Anyone fancy a project?

Whoa, this project sounds epic! 🌌 Just started voice acting classes and have been told I've got a range. Would totally be down to voice a character or two. Always wanted to be part of a fan project.

Count me in! I've got a collection of transcribed audio dramas and old episode scripts. Could definitely help with ensuring the dialogues are as close to the originals as possible.

I'm no actor but I could totally help out with some of the behind-the-scenes stuff like editing or finding sound effects? There's loads of royalty free stuff we could use to patch things up.

If you're going for a recreation, might as well attempt to replicate the practical effects of the era. I've got experience with DIY SFX. Could be a fun challenge to make some old-school style monsters using household items. Imagine an updated yet retro look for the Daleks!

haha good luck recreating the magic of shaky sets and rubber suits with your smartphones and fancy computers. you'll just ruin the nostalgia like all reboots do

I've been playing around with some basic animation software and been wanting to do something Who-related. This could be a great portfolio project! I'm still learning but would love to give it a shot. Might take awhile but hey it’s for the Whovian cause right?

As an amateur filmmaker, I find this initiative quite ambitious. Recreating the vibe of the '60s and '70s Doctor Who won't be easy, certain nuances will be inherently lost. Yet, it also opens up avenues for creative interpretations. If anyone is drafting a detailed plan, make sure to consider the aesthetic carefully. For instance, the visual quality should reflect the era - including set design, costumes, and effects. And let's not even get started on the music scoring; it needs to be spot-on to preserve the atmosphere.
