I'd throw in Picnic at Hanging Rock from 1975. It's eerie, mysterious, and will leave you scratching your head in the best way. The atmosphere is something else entirely. Aussie classic!

Is anyone old enough to remember Strictly Ballroom? Baz Luhrmann's debut! It's such a wild, colorful ride with lots of laughs and glitter. You'll dance away with a smile!

Not enough love for Kenny, mate! A mockumentary about a plumber, but also surprisingly deep. Who knew toilets could be so inspirational? 💩🙌

Ohhh if you haven't seen Muriel's Wedding, you are seriously missing out! It's such a feel-good movie, the soundtrack's amazing (ABBA, anyone?), and Toni Collette is just brilliant. 😊🎶

I would argue that 'Wake in Fright' (1971) is a must-see if you're interested in Aussie cinema, a film that delves deep into the dark underbelly of the Outback. It's unsettling and remarkably crafted, showcasing what rural life can do to an outsider. It's not just a film, it's an experience.

On the other hand, for something more recent, I'd recommend 'Sweet Country' which offers an intense take on justice and race relations set against the stunning yet harsh Aussie landscape. Serious stuff, highly recommended.

I'm all about The Dish! It's this quirky comedy about the moon landing and a bunch of Aussies who are supposed to track the whole thing with a radio telescope. Totally underrated. Plus, Sam Neill kills it as always.

Absolutely cannot miss 'Samson & Delilah'! It's a beautifully brutal look at Indigenous life in Australia, directed by Warwick Thornton. Really hope people check it out, it hits hard but it's worth it!
