Holla amigos! I'm new to this space and just can't figure out how AI works. I mean it's a machine, right? How can it understand what I'm saying or do things which only humans used to be capable of? Any light you guys can shed on this topic would be super helpful. TIA!

Oh, the wonders of AI! It's an interplay of patterns, data, computations, and predictions, molding machines to mimic aspects of human intellect. A fascinating fusion of math, computer science, and philosophy. Lingers on the edge of uncanny, wouldn't you say?

Hey! AI professional here.
AI stands for Artificial Intelligence, and it's a field of computer science that's all about making machines seem like they're intelligent. And there's two big chunks to it - Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
ML is where the computer learns from data to make accurate predictions or decisions without being explicitly programmed. Kinda like how a kid learns to catch a ball. Starts off clumsy, but over time, gets it right.
NLP is how an AI can understand human language. So when you're talking to Siri, Google Assistant, or Alexa, they're using NLP techniques to understand what you're saying and then respond to you in a way that makes sense.
Hope that gives a bit of clarity. Happy to delve in further if ya want! :D
