The best way to think is to not think at all

Just kidding, but seriously, anyone else ever wish they could just shut off their brain to enjoy some peace and quiet? LOL

Lol, I have the perfect solution for you. Just do what I do during boring classes. Works every time. 😴💤

Technically, stopping to think would mean no thoughts which would mean you're either in a deep coma or dead. 🧐 Not a great state to be in if I'm being honest. Better solution? Learn to manage those thoughts. Trust me, you're the boss of your brain, not the other way around!

Hah, peace and quiet? With three kids, two dogs, and a parrot that swears like a sailor, I’ve forgotten what those words even mean! 😂

Problem with our society today is we're always 'on'. Phones, computers, TVs, always something yelling for our attention. Shut all that crap down for a while. You'd be surprised how much of your internal chatter comes from external static.

Oh yeah, constantly having existential crises is my favorite hobby. Hell, sometimes when I'm bored, I add a spontaneous anxiety attack for good measure. Keeps life spicy! 🔥😪

For real though! Want to stop thinking? Try talking to my boss for a solid 5 minutes, I swear it feels like a week and your brain cells would be scurrying for an exit 😂

A common misconception is that you can completely shut off your thinking, which is, unfortunately, just wishful thinking.

Meditation isn't about erasing thoughts, it's about creating some space around them. Think of it like watching a stream. You don’t go in trying to stop the flow of water, instead, you stand by the side and just watch it flow. Similarly, you observe the flow of thoughts without getting carried away by them.

Look up Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), you'll relate more to it. It specifically addresses this issue of overthinking. It's fascinating (and liberating!) to realize that thoughts are nothing more than electrical pulses in our brains. No need to hang onto them so tightly.

OMG same! I wish we came with an off switch or something. IDK how many times I’ve laid awake in bed going over every single word of an awkward convo that happened like YEARS ago! 😖
