Sometimes a post can technically follow the rules but still kinda skirt the line of what's okay. Not saying that's what happened to you, but a lot of times stuff like tone or intent comes into play. Maybe there's more to it than you think?

This is EXACTLY what's wrong with the current state of internet forums. Mods need to be held accountable!! They can't just go around silencing people for no reason. We have the right to speak our minds!

Haven't been banned myself, but I've seen power-hungry mods around. Some use the rules loosely just to feel important. Not all though, some do a great job. It's a coin toss really.

Moderator from another community here. It's tough sometimes—mods are volunteers trying to keep the subs clean and on-topic. We can make mistakes. If you feel it was unjust, a calm message to modmail explaining your position might help. No guarantees, but usually there's room for discussion.

I got banned once for something similar. Tbh, I don’t even think the mods read the posts properly. Seemed like an overreaction to me. They gotta remember it's the community that makes the sub, not their power trips.

Actually, it's worth considering that some subs have 'unwritten rules' based on community culture or mod discretion. It may not be ideal, but sometimes what's considered a violation isn't spelled out explicitly in the sidebar. Maybe try reaching out to the mods for clarification instead of ranting here?
