You're gonna love it! Just remember, don't stick solely to the touristy stuff! Here are my tips:
Start early: The Louvre gets packed quickly, so go as early as possible and get your fill of the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo.
Escargot: You gotta try some fresh escargot. Most cafés will serve it, but my personal favorite is at Le Comptoir du Relais in the 6e arrondissement.
Sainte-Chapelle: Trust me, on a sunny day this chapel's stained glass will have you speechless.
Shop at SHAKESPEARE AND COMPANY: This bookstore is a must-visit. It's an English-language bookstore in the heart of Paris, nearly 100 years old.
Kick back in a café: Take some time to relax at a café — it's a quintessential Parisian experience. Just people-watch, sip your coffee, and enjoy. A personal favorite is Café de Flore.

Am a local. You're spot on. If I may, another tip: don't be the loud, annoying tourist. Parisians appreciate when you try a bit of French, even if you butcher it. Just start with a 'Bonjour'. And don't forget, dinner starts at 8pm, not earlier. In Paris, we start our nights late. Cheers!

OMG yes to the café life. Also, while we're on the topic, not shopping in Paris would be a total crime. Le Marais is a great spot for indie brands and vintage shops, and the covered passages around Palais-Royal are full of high-end boutiques. And don't forget the macarons from Ladurée for the perfect Insta pic!

Shakespeare and Company is a piece of literary history! Did you know it was a gathering place for famous writers like Hemingway and Fitzgerald during the 1920s? Also, if you go, don't miss out on the smaller, but fantastic, Abbey Bookshop. It's a Canadian bookstore, also in Latin Quarter, and it's wonderfully cosy and well-stocked.

stainglass in Sainte-Chapelle is insane, even if ur not into churches. Super close is Latin Quarter, rad spot for cheaper eats. I recommend the falafel there. And if you're lookin to save cash, grab a velib (public bike) and ride around. Super cheap way to see the city.

The Louvre is unreal, but don't skip Musée d'Orsay! It's less crowded and has an amazing collection of impressionist art. Van Gogh, Monet, Degas, Gauguin... they're all there. Also, if you can, take a trip out to Versailles. The palace and gardens are totally worth the half day trip.

On the food front, check out Rue Cler in the 7e arrondissement too. It's a pedestrian street lined with bistros, patisseries and other great food spots. Perfect spot for a lunch after visiting the Eiffel Tower. And for dessert, Berthillon ice cream on Île Saint-Louis is the best. Try the caramel salted butter flavor, trust me.

So true about not sticking to just the touristy stuff! I'd add that a walk along the Seine, especially at sunset, is a must. Grab a baguette, some cheese and wine for a perfect Parisian picnic. Also, get the Navigo pass if you'll be there for a whole week. Unlimited travel including airports. It's a steal!
