Ever wonder what jams the Vikings were bumping on their longships? Did the Romans have sick beats during their senate meetings? If you've ever used a quill as a scratching post, this is the thread for you! Let's discuss our favorite historical anachronisms! (And please, no actual historians allowed, don't ruin our fun with 'facts' and 'evidence'.)

Considering the 'music of the spheres' concept from ancient Greek philosophy, we could conclude that they were all about some celestial, ambient music. Boards of Canada, anyone? Or maybe the Greeks were into Brian Eno's 'An Ending (Ascent)' as their soundtrack while discussing philosophy under the stars?

In my mind, the Spartans were definitely into something with a regular, disciplined beat. Perfect for marching and very much in line with their orderly society. Something like Kraftwerk or Jean Michel Jarre would suit them perfectly, albeit synthesized.
