Is the animation changing?

Hey guys, I just started rewatching and noticed the animation looks different now, especially in the newer seasons. Did they change studios or something? It's not bad, just different lol

You're not alone in noticing the change. There's something to be said about the warm textures of the old animation that mirrored the heartfelt stories. But evolution is part of any long-running series – and Arthur's no exception. The soul of the show, thankfully, remains intact in the writing and characters, even if the outer shell has morphed into something new.

Yep, it's all flashy and shiny now ✨ Gotta keep up with them trends, I guess! Still, Arthur's Arthur, I'll watch it even if they animate it with stick figures lol

Animators got lazy lol. This new stuff is so robotic. Bring back the good old days when cartoons didn't look like flash games hahaha

Indeed, the animation style transitioned from traditional hand-drawn to digital tweening. This shift happened during the show's 16th season when they moved from AKOM to 9 Story Media Group for their production. The change stems from advancements in animation technology and a trend towards more cost-effective production methods. While some appreciate the modern look, others feel it lacks the texture and depth of the classic animation.

Not a fan of the new animation tbh 🙄 It feels less 'Arthur' to me, ya know? The original had this unique charm, it felt more organic. While the new one might be cleaner, it just doesn't have the same soul. And yes, they did switch studios, started doing digital animation to keep up with the times, I guess.

omg yes!! i noticed that too. They definitely changed it. At first I was like what?? but now I kinda dig it. It's like more bright and the characters move smoother. I think it took some getting used to, but I'm all for it now.

Yeah, they switched to flash animation a while back, I think it was around season 16? Miss the old style but I guess it's cheaper and quicker to make episodes now.
