Homemade Crunch Cereal recipe inspired by Arthur's fav!

Just made my own version of Arthur's favorite Crunch cereal!! Here's the recipe:

Ingredients: - 2 cups rolled oats - 1/2 cup nuts (I used almonds) - 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup - 1/4 cup unsalted butter - 1 tsp vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp salt - 1/2 cup dried cranberries or raisins

Steps: 1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). 2. Mix the oats and nuts together on a baking sheet. 3. Heat honey, butter, vanilla, and salt in a saucepan until melted. 4. Pour the liquid over the oats and nuts, stir until coated. 5. Bake for 15 minutes, stir, then another 10-15 until golden. 6. Once cool, toss in the dried fruit.

It's super yummy and Arthur would definitely approve! 😋

Does it crunch loud enough to wake up my neighbors? It's not real Crunch cereal if it doesn't. But hey, at least you're not buying into those overpriced 'health' cereals at the store. Props for that!

This is bringing back the memories! Anyone else used to pretend their cereal was the Crunch brand when watching Arthur before school? No? Just me? Okay... Anyway, love the recipe. Defo gonna try and maybe watch some classic episodes while I munch.

New to the subreddit, and just wow! I never thought I'd stumble upon Arthur-inspired recipes, but here I am. This sounds amazing and pretty simple too. Bookmarking this for my next kitchen adventure!

I dunno, homemade cereal is cool and all, but can it really live up to the actual Crunch Cereal from the show? I mean, Arthur's passion for that cereal was intense. Guess there's only one way to find out. I'll make it this weekend and report back.

Looks tasty but too much sugar for me with the honey and dried fruits. Anyone tried a sugar-free version? Maybe swap the honey for a banana puree? and use low glycemic index fruits? Also thinking if there's a way to reduce the carbs... Maybe some puffed quinoa or amaranth could work. Thoughts?

Nice recipe adaptation! I've experimented with homemade granola and cereals before. If you want an extra kick of flavor, try toasting the nuts before mixing them with the oats, it brings out a rich nuttiness that's just delish! Also, a little spice can go a long way – a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg complements the honey and vanilla beautifully. Keep up the great work and culinary creativity inspired by our fave aardvark!

Omg, I love this! Been trying to make my own cereal for a while and this recipe looks so doable. Arthur was my childhood hero and Crunch was the dream cereal, you know? Definitely gonna give this a try. Maybe will add some chocolate chips though because why not?!
