Chicken Piccata with Aldi Ingredients

Hey folks! Thought I'd share my Chicken Piccata recipe that I made using only Aldi stuff. Hope you guys try it & love it.

  1. I started out with the Kirkwood Chicken Breasts
  2. Butterflied the breasts, dredged them in Baker's Corner Flour, and cooked them in good ol' Carlini Olive Oil. Added some Stonemill Salt and Black Pepper for seasoning.
  3. Set the chicken aside, threw in some Priano minced Garlic into the same pan. Don't let it brown!
  4. Added about 1/2 cup of Huntington Home White Wine and let it simmer till it reduced to half.
  5. Sprinkled in some Happy Harvest Capers, and the juice of a Specially Selected Lemon.
  6. Finally added about 1/2 cup of Friendly Farms Heavy Whipping Cream and Fleetwood Farms Shredded Parmesan Cheese.
  7. Returned the chicken to the pan and let it simmer for some more minutes.

Voila! Super yummy Chicken Piccata :)

A commendable effort at making a complex dish with budget-friendly ingredients. Aldi products are surprisingly versatile and generally offer good quality, particularly for home cooks. If you wanted to take it a step further, you could consider deglazing the pan with a splash of wine after cooking the chicken, before adding the garlic. This would help lift any flavourful fond (those little brown bits stuck to the pan) and add more depth to your final product. Enjoy your cooking journey!

This actually sounds pretty doable and very yummy. Wonder if I can just use the pre-cooked chicken strips though. More steps = more dishes to wash... 😅

Hmm, I mean it's great that you're cooking from scratch and all, but aren't there specific brands for the wine and cheese that would work better for a Piccata? Not sure Aldi's budget options can deliver the right depth of flavor.

Whoa, didn't know Aldi had capers! Thought I had to hit the fancy grocery for those. Cheers!

Well, I appreciate the detailed recipe but it's not really helpful for someone who doesn't eat meat or dairy. Any chance you have a vegan version for this?

Ummm, what's butterflied mean? And how do I know when wine is reduced to half? Don't really cook much but this sounds good and wanna give it a shot.

Been shopping at Aldi for a while now and I've never thought of using their stuff for Chicken Piccata! This sounds fantastic. I'll make a special Aldi run this weekend just for this. Can't wait to try it, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing! Made it tonight and even my picky kiddos liked it. Requested I put it on our monthly dinner rotation! Who knew they’d eat capers?!
