Just found my old Game Boy Color and it's fully working! The hours I spent playing Pokémon and Zelda... Man, the nostalgia is real. The screen's unlit, so had to sit under a lamp to play. Worth it!

Whooo, nice find! Which colors do you have? I’ve got this rad Atomic Purple one that's mint. Makes me wish companies still made translucent electronics. They’re super collectible now. If you ever think about expanding your collection, HMU—I’ve got the 411 on hunting down these gems.

No lie, the GBC had some bangers in terms of soundtracks. The Pokémon battle music was the soundtrack of my childhood. Also, shout out to the folks who remember painstakingly trading mons with that link cable. Can we get a moment of silence for all the fallen link cables that stopped working?

As someone who makes pixel art for a living, the Game Boy Color aesthetics are a huge inspiration! The limitations of that tiny screen pushed devs to create some iconic visuals. Ever notice how you can still recognize Pokémon sprites from just a few pixels? That's art right there! Oh, and who else had the magnifying screen attachment with the lights, lol?

I totally feel you on the nostalgia trip. The tactile feel of the buttons, the sound of the cartridge clicking in, pure 90s goodness. Nothing beats the simplicity of those times, before smartphones and backlighting took over. Curled up in that lamp light was where the magic happened.
